About Us

We are four young(ish) attorneys based at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun, LLP and at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, LLP. Our practices range from environmental litigation and counseling, insurance coverage, property damage, and other complex litigation. This blog will be looking at environmental law in all its variety and complexity. If you’re in an industry affected by environmental laws, are involved in environmental remediation or consulting, are an attorney looking for the latest updates regarding environmental litigation, or even just a casual reader interested in environmental law, we hope you’ll find this site useful and even entertaining.

We’ll be posting about other things as well, including Sean’s favorite banjo music, where to get the best falafel in Indianapolis, the depressing seasons that all of Colin’s favorite sports teams are having, Brianna’s exotic (and not-so-exotic) travels, and Dan’s adventures in parenting.

Some biographical information on us:

Dan Cory is based out of PSRB’s northwest Indiana office in South Bend, which is where he grew up. His practice focuses on environmental compliance and counseling, complex environmental litigation and insurance coverage litigation. Dan received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Bloomington and is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame Law School, where he was the president of the Environmental Law Society, as well as the lead guitarist in the law school cover band, “The Restatements.”

Colin Connor practices in PSRB’s Indianapolis office, which is where he was born and raised. His practice focuses on environmental insurance coverage litigation and various other forms of complex litigation. He grew up in the construction business and has a growing construction law practice as well. He is a 2009 graduate of the Maurer School of Law Indiana University, Bloomington and a 2005 graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Brianna Schroeder worked for PSRB for many moons before marrying and moving to Chicago, Illinois, where she now practices at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, LLP. She focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and insurance coverage, but also dabbles in agricultural law. Brianna grew up in the cornfields of northeastern Indiana. She went to undergrad at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received her master’s in International Commerce & Policy at Valparaiso University. Brianna is a 2009 graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law. She is licensed in Indiana and Illinois.

Sean Hirschten is based out of PSRB’s Indianapolis office. His practice focuses on environmental insurance coverage litigation, but, as noted above, he does what the partners give him to do. That means he has been involved in cases dealing with toxic tort litigation, alleged IDEM permit violations, and leaking underground petroleum storage tanks, as well as other issues. He is a 2010 graduate of the Maurer School of Law Indiana University, Bloomington and a 1999 graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
